Karnataka wins Ranji Trophy after 14 Years

Karnataka shot at glory by completing a seven-wicket win over two-time champion Maharashtra   at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Hyderabad to win the Ranji trophy for seventh time. Karnataka, chasing a target of 157 Runs on fifth and last day of tournament, was successful to clinch the trophy by losing only three wickets in second inning.
           Karnataka bowlers Vinay Kumar and Shreyash Gopal claimed four wickets each. The remaining two wickets claimed by Mithun.
           The moment of reckoning finally dawned on Karnataka after 14 long seasons. The last time Karnataka won the national championship was in 1999 when it defeated Madhya Pradesh in the final.

Maharashtra: 305 & 366 all out (captain: Rohit Motwani)
Karnataka: 515 & 157 for 3 wickets (captain: Vinay Kumar)

Man of the Match: Lokesh Rahul

who scored 131 runs in the first inning and 29 in the second.
